Getting Started

Use this page as the first-run checklist for a new NXTKB keyboard. The goal is simple: power it on, confirm it sends input, connect it the way you want, then learn the default layers.

  1. Turn on both keyboard halves.
  2. Connect the left half over USB-C first.
  3. Open Keyboard & Mouse Test and press a few keys.
  4. Pair over Bluetooth if you want wireless use.
  5. Review the default keymap for your model.
  6. For Sweep Pro versions with extra hardware, read the trackpad or display guide.

  • Test USB first. It is the shortest path to confirm that the keyboard sends normal key events.
  • If Bluetooth pairing fails, clear the current Bluetooth slot and try pairing again.
  • If only one half works, confirm both halves are powered on.
  • If trackpad or wheel events are confusing, use Keyboard & Mouse Test and then read Trackpad.
